Lensed
So I drive downtown afterwork the other day to meet up with my buddy Tomas. I park in front of the JJ Bean at Davie and Homer and all is pretty much as expected. But then, as I’m getting out the car, this stylish guy in a euroscarf holding a big camera is jogging up to me and he’s all like, “Hey I run a style blog — can I get a picture of you and your car?” And he hands me his promo-card. I’m still looking at it as he quickly sets up the shot. He goes, “Ok can you just lean on the front of the car?” I think he meant with my ass. So, that would be sitting. Sitting on my car. More or less. And I put that through a bit of preprocessing and no. So I said, “How about if I just stand here?” Fine, so he takes a shot and says thanks very much and he’s gone. This whole whatever-it-was clocked in at about 8 seconds. Huh, ok, well that was something. Doesn’t happen every day. Kind of nice. Alright, well, back to real life. So yeah, at that point I’m pretty sure that nobody really noticed and then ah, of course, two seconds later, from out of nowhere, Tomas walks up to me and dryly says, “There you are attracting attention again, I see.”
Oh man. Well. No really, come on. I’m a private guy, but I have to tell you, it’s hard not to feel like a million bucks when something like this happens. Except when your buddy witnesses it.
So anyhow, the pic is up on the very handsome stylequotient site (I’m number 0174) and quite frankly, I have to admit that it turned out quite nicely, especially for a totally impromptu, quick, on-the-spot thing. Apparently, he also got a great shot of my car from across the street with the light showing off the lines. Thanks man, love that one.
