A sofa in the gents’ at the Cactus
[col-sect][column]Cellphone shot of the sofa in the men’s washroom at the Cactus Club on Broadway. Pause. Pause. Pause. Yes, a sofa in the men’s room. (I took the shot when no one was around; a fact that should go without having to clarify, but just in case it wasn’t perfectly obvious to every single person.)
So yeah, the men’s room sofa. I’m trying to picture the circumstances in which it would ever occur to someone that sitting there would seem like anything but a really weird thing to do. Let alone a desirable thing to do. Or even an acceptable thing to do. It’s like, “Huh, how about that: a sofa. What a great place to sit and chill for a while and maybe even strike up conversation with other fellas who come in. A chummy hangout.”[/column][column]
