Investors, come and get it
Oh man the idea machine is humming in fine form. Here’s another gem: I’m calling it snippets. It’s when you’re blogging and you use a phrase or word referenced from somewhere in pop culture and when you mouse over it you get a little video of the character using that phrase. So if I write, ‘You’re pushing your luck, little man.’ you mouse over the words and you get a little video pop-up snippet of the Soup Nazi dishing your favourite non Jerry/Kramer/George/Elaine line. Just the snippet – not the entire Youtube 5 minute clip. Better yes? Nyeah.
Why it works: it is completely on code. Today is all about referencing. Pop, rap, blogging, whatever – you bring in your references to lend some cred to your thing. Like the associations thing I was talking about. Like right now to emphasize my point, I could use a snippet of Sean Penn in Hurlyburly saying, ‘They just use you to make the bullshit look legitimate.‘ (I did my best. The inference being that not everything that is referenced actually has any relevance or meaning). But snippet references can give your shtick a little stick.
I’m expecting tons of VC email.
